Cold Installation Worker

Too cold to install vinyl outside? We have some tips.

Even though it is cold outside, there are a couple of choices that can extend our outdoor display graphics. Manufacturers have been working to solve this problem, and there are two choices that we are aware of.

Firstly, the real leader, Phototex and their removable/repositionable fabric pressure sensitive fabric. With recommended application temperatures to -20 degrees Celsius. This material is amazing. Easy to install in all temperatures, this should be a strong consideration when the weather is questionable.

The newest contender is the 3M IJ180mC-10 UR – Ultra Removable Film. This new film is able to be applied to -2 degrees Celsius. And can also be removed at the same temps. You will have a more familiar look and feel of pressure sensitive vinyl.

Applications include automobile, bus, commercial vehicle or fleet graphics as well as general signage, vending or dispensing machines and cooler graphics. Application temperature: air and substrate — flat surfaces with and without rivets: 28-100F (2-38C). Curved surfaces: 60-100F (15-38C)

Bundle up. You’ve got choices, even in winter.
